Below is the complete list of 64 electrified vehicles coming before the end of 2024 which means it includes a few 2025 model year products.

The problems with the word complete are:

  1. auto manufacturers love to surprise consumers and shareholders with new product so there will be many more than this
  2. auto manufactures sometimes delay product because they can’t get key components, like computer chips and batteries
  3. we did not include exotic brands that will produce a few dozen units for billionaires
  4. we did not include single market vehicles (i.e. those built just for China)

We also included a few Plug-In Hybrid Vehicles (PHEV’s) in this list of mostly EV’s because we expect they will be very high volume sellers and you may be interested in them.  We really like PHEV’s and agree with Volvo that there will be a big place in the market for them over the next decade.

It’s also important to remember that the prices shown are before incentives which can bring the price down another $5000 to $15000 depending on where you live.  On the other hand, we are showing starting prices, so you will end up adding $5000 to $15000 in options to get the one you really want, so perhaps these prices are accurate after all.

Here is the giant list of near future EV’s in alphabetic order:

BMW i4 EV 2022 $50,000

BMW i4 EV 2022

Technically the BMW i4 EV is on sale now, but you won’t get one until 2022 so it made the list.

More details HERE.

BMW iX EV 2022 $85,000

BMW iX EV 2022

This dual motor BMW SUV was based on the iNext concept first shown to the public in 2018 and is intended to compete with the pricey Mercedes EQC and Tesla Model X.  We still don’t like the “bucktooth grille”.

Buick – Nada!

Buick MAY have two new SUV’s built on GM’s next-gen BEV3 platform using Ultium battery systems but as of fall 2022 nothing has been announced or even credibly leaked.  The General seems happy to focus on new EV Cadillacs, Hummer and pickup trucks.  We suspect that Buick will have EV offerings in China years before the West gets them.

Cadillac Celestiq 2024 $65,000

Cadillac Celestiq 2024

The Celestiq sedan has not been shown publicly so we have to rely on the 2018 Escala prototype GM said the Celestiq would be based on, combined with the artistic skill of others to produce renderings like those at CadillacSociety.com.

Cadillac Lyriq EV 2023 $60,000

Cadillac Lyriq EV 2022The Generals first major EV product for its Cadillac line since the 2014-2016 ELR.

Chevrolet Bolt EV 2024 $30,000

Chevrolet Bolt EV 2024

Even though GM has not disclosed photos, we know allot about the replacement Bolt because GM said it will be built on the new BEV3 platform using Ultium batteries.

Chevrolet Camaro EV 2024

Whats Next in EVs? The COMPLETE List of Electrified Vehicles Coming Before 2024

GM has announced the end of the Camaro but we don’t expect this iconic nameplate to be gone long.  As you can see in the renderings above most automotive pundits imagine the new EV Camaro will be a four door to take on the huge success of the Ford Mach-E and Tesla Model Y.  We think that if it comes back, the Camaro will look a lot more like the 2007 prototype Chevrolet Volt that these drawing suggest.

More details HERE.

Chevrolet Silverado EV 2023 $50,000

Chevrolet Silverado EV 2023

Again, General Motors has announced, but not yet unveiled the EV version of its top selling pickup truck so we have to rely on renders.  For some reason these renders use mostly overly raked windshields which would be very difficult drive. It makes the most sense to look like the blue unnamed prototype in the bottom left.

Chrysler SUV Unnamed EV 2024

2024 chrysler ev suv

Chrysler’s parent company, Netherlands based Stellantis, has shown the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe and said that it will follow with a Chrysler version.  Chrysler provided this teaser picture in July of 2021.  They just announced a major partnership deal with Samsung to build batteries in North America and claim that 40% of their total sales will be EV’s by 2030.  We only hope they do not bring back the repeatedly failed Aspen SUV nameplate.

Dodge Charger / Challenger EV 2024

DODGE Charger Challenger EV 2024

Many people had written on Dodge as a dead brand.  After all there 300 line (300, Charger and Challenger) have design roots that are nearly 20 years old.  However in July 2021 Stellantis, Dodge’s parent company, teased images of a Charger or Challenger looking EV.

Fisker Ocean EV 2023 $37,000

fisker ocean suv 2023

We have already put down our $250 deposit on this innovative SUV.  Fisker calls itself the worlds first virtual car company because it has no plans to own manufacturing facilities.  Henrik Fisker has already tried that and failed so now he has signed large deals with Magna to build the Ocean in its famed German assembly plant which makes the Mercedes G Wagon, Toyota Supra among others.  Many still question if Fisker can pull it off and in October of 2021 we saw this headline Fisker, Believe It When You See It.

Ford F150 Lightning EV 2022 $40,000

Ford F150 Lightning EV 2022

We are a bit underwhelmed by the looks of this soon-to-be ubiquitous electric pickup but Ford says that is the point.  It is supposed to look like a normal F150, but like Superman can quickly change and provide super-human-truck service like plugs for your tools avoiding the pumps.

More details HERE.

Ford Bronco Sport PHEV 2024

bronco sport phev 2024

Ford has not officially said they will make the Bronco sport a Plug In but the vehicle it is based on, the Ford Escape, already is.  Given that early Bronco Sport reviews have been mostly favorable while the Escapes have been horrible, we are sure they will make the Bronco Sport a PHEV by model year 2024.  It also would not surprise us to see Ford kill the Escape brand all together in an effort to increase sales and profits with the higher margin Bronco Sport.

Ford Explorer EV 2023 $45,000

2023-Ford-Explorer EV

Ford Dealers are already taking deposits on the the EV version of the popular SUV.  As you can see in the 2023 Ford Explorer photo above, factory testing is no longer even using camouflage.  The Explorer EV will be built in Mexico on the same line as the Mustang Mach-E so you can expect similar performance.

Ford Maverick PHEV 2023 $30,000

2022 Ford Maverick PHEV

Ford is selling their new small (and low priced!) Maverick pickup truck to those who would usually buy an SUV but might, sometimes, here and there, want a little more utility.  The PHEV version is expected by 2023 and a full EV version could be on sale as soon as the 2024 model year.

More details HERE.

GMC Hummer EV 2024 $80,000

GMC Hummer EV 2023First edition units of this GMC Hummer EV go on sale in 2023 for a massive USD$106000 (CDN $130K, UK £78K), but cheaper $80K versions will hit the streets in 2024.  Also we show this as a 2024 model because those 2023 First Edition units are already sold out.  Hummers will be made in GM’s historic Hamtramck plant in Detroit after it is $2.2 billion conversion to electric vehicle production only is complete and it is renamed Factory Zero.

More details HERE.

Honda Prologue EV 2024 $40,000

It is appropriate to have the Honda Prologue listed after the GMC Hummer because the Prologue is the result of a GM / Honda collaboration in which Honda will be using GM’s amazing Ultium battery system.  Honda had little choice but the partner with someone as they, along with most Japanese auto manufacturers, put all their future eggs in the Hydrogen basket.  While hydrogen is certainly going to be a big player in displacing (pun intended) diesel vehicles like busses and big rigs, it will have a limited use case in consumer grade passenger vehicles.

Genesis (Hyundai) Essentia EV 2023

Genesis (Hyundai) Essentia EV 2023

Most automotive people say this prototype is coming to market in the fall of 2023 as a 2024 model but some have claimed as recently as June 2021 that it is on hold.

Genesis (Hyundai) G80 EV 2022 $48,000

Genesis (Hyundai) G80 EV 2022

At $48000 the G80 is going to be a high volume winner.  Hyundai already makes great quality high featured vehicles and their Genesis brand takes it up one big notch.  They are taking orders now so contact your local deal and read more about the G80 HERE right now.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV 2022 $45,000

Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV 2022

Hyundai is already already taking pre-orders on their IONIQ 5 COMING SOON page .  Most people disagree with us when we say it looks like a VM Golf GTI killer, but that doesn’t stop us for expressing our opinion.

Hyundai RM20e EV 2024

Hyundai RM20e EV 2024

A version of the RM20e will be sold under a more palatable name in Hyundai’s “N” sub-brand.  Some expect it to replace the Velocster.   The current RM20e produces a jaw dropping 810 horsepower and zip to 100K’s (60 miles) per hour in under 3 seconds.

Jeep Grande Cherokee 4xe PHEV 2022

Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe

The 4xe version of the Grand Cherokee is more than just a standard unit with a small 25 mile battery added to the standard gas power plants.  Stellantis (Chrysler, Jeep) actually changed C Pillar at the back of the vehicle.

Kia EV6 EV 2022 $58,000

While Kia makes a fine vehicle, we think it will struggle to sell many units at $60,000.  It is just not competitive with the Tesla Model 3, Fisker Ocean and Mustang Mach E.

Land Rover Range Rover EV 2024 $110,000

Land Rover Range Rover EV

Land Rover has said it will launch 6 EV’s before 2026 and the Range Rover EV is the first.  It won’t come cheap as the current (pun intended) Range Rover Sport PHEV starts at $96000.

Lexus LF-Z EV 2024

Lexus LF-Z EV 2024Toyota’s luxury name plate is already showing off their LF-Z concept and it does not look to far from production ready to us.  There is always more engineering to do and lower prices to be had by waiting, but we suspect Lexus is waiting for the demand for these types of vehicles to pickup before the start cutting into their high profit cash cow.

Lincoln Corsair PHEV 2022 $50,000

2022-Lincoln-Corsair PHEV

Technically available now, we have never seen one and Lincoln does not appear to have any PHEV units for sale.  Expect the Corsair PHEV to be ready for mass market sales at some point in 2022.

More details HERE.

Lincoln Aviator PHEV 2022 $65,000

Lincoln Aviator PHEV

Just like the Corsair PHEV, Technically available now, we have never seen one and Lincoln does not appear to have any PHEV units for sale.  This is likely due to Ford’s deal to make 100,000 PHEV Explorers in Police packages.  Expect the Aviator PHEV to be ready for mass market sales at some point in 2022.

Lucid Air EV 2022 $78,000

Well, you can’t get an Air for $80,000 until at least 2023 but you can place the order today.  We have likened Lucid interiors to what Rolls Royce’s may have in the future and backed with Saudi money they have the resources to make it happen.  Early reviews are good but not stellar.

More details HERE.

Lucid Gravity SUV 2023 $90,000

With the three electric motor option, Lucid claims the Gravity has a whopping 1300 horsepower.  Of course that model will cost you $125,000.  Say no more… just watch the video.

More details HERE.

Mazda MX-30 EV 2022 $34,000

Mazda MX-30 EV 2022We think that when families realize they don’t need a 300 mile battery in both of their vehicles, products like Mazda’s innovative MX30 will blowout the doors.   It offers just 100 miles of range, but that is more than double what the average city driver uses in a day and at $37,000… well, the price is still too high, but Mazda and others will offer these at lower prices in the future.

Mercedes Benz EQA SUV EV 2022 $57,000

2022-mercedes-benz-eqa-suv-2022

Color us unimpressed.  This smallest of the Mercedes SUV line looks more like an old Honda CRV or an even older Kia Sorrento than a Mercedes.  Also it has nearly the same starting price as the much better proportioned (but still ugly) EQB so we think this one will struggle for attention and sales in the US and Canada.

More details HERE.

Mercedes Benz EQB EV SUV 2022 $57000

2022-mercedes-benz-eqb-suv

Again, we are not a fan of the style or more accurately the lack their of, but the build quality and interior will likely carry the day for this not-so-tiny luxury SUV.  At $57K this all electric Mercedes SUV one will sell a few units.

More details HERE.

Mercedes Benz EQC EV SUV 2022 $69,000

Mercedes Benz EQC EV 2022 interior and exterior

Still not a huge fan of this Audi looking design but at least this one looks like a Mercedes inside.  Unfortunately, it has the price to match.  At a $70K starting price the EQC is competitively priced with other luxury electric SUV’s but well out of reach of most consumers.

More details HERE.

Mercedes Benz EQE EV 2023 $83,000

Watch this video to see how Mercedes got this one right.  Sedans are where Mercedes shines and this “cheap EQS” with a range 70 kilometers (50 miles) greater than a Tesla Model 3 will be a good seller.

More details HERE.

Mercedes Benz EQG EV 2022 $130,000

mercedes-benz-eqg

Fun fact:  Did you know that Mercedes sells more AMG versions of its classic G Wagon than any other Mercedes?  The AMG G63 sells for more than $210,000.  Because of sales volumes, that makes the G Mercedes largest profit center.  Also, did you know that Mercedes does not manufacture the G?  Canada’s Magna puts them together at its legendary plant in Graz Austria and while no announcements have been made Magna is expected to produce the all ellectric EQG too.  Pictured here is the all electric EQG Concept but it has mirrors and a real grill so it is very close to what the production units will look like.

Mini Countryman EV SUV 2024 $42,000

Mini Countryman EV SUV 2024

BMW’s tiny car unit, Mini, has announced the Countryman EV for 2024.  While it is a subcompact SUV to the market it will be one of Mini’s largest vehicles.

Nio ET7 2022 $70,000

If you have never heard of Nio, you are not alone, but it is China’s fully realized answer to Tesla and the ET7 is a real Model S killer.  Watch the video and be amazed at the build quality and quick battery swapping tech.  This one may not make it to the US and Canada but it is already available in Germany.

More details HERE.

Nio ES8 2022 $68,000

Looking more than a bit like the Nissan Pathfinder on the outside, that is where the similarities end.  Nio’s uber luxury ES8 with quick battery swapping technology and all the trimmings of a top end Model S at a 25% discount, makes it a real winner.  Again the ES8 may not make it to Canada and the US in the next two years but it has been on sale in Norway since 2021 and goes on sale in Germany in 2022, so European customers can expect this to arrive before the middle of the decade.

Nissan Ariya EV 2022 $42,000

2022 Nissan_ariya_infographic

Nissan has been desperately trying to keep its brand alive in the North American market while it readies this first fully electric product since their CEO went all in on the Leaf a decade ago.  To us, this looked like a real winner in 2019 when it was announced at the Tokyo Auto Show, but it is unlikely to sell in volume until 2023 and by that point it will be dated.

More details HERE.

Nissan Leaf EV 2024 $29,000

2024 nissan-leaf

Nissan revised its first EV a few years ago but now it is time for an all new product.  To make this happen Nissan is spending more than $1 billion dollars on a new UK factory named EV36Zero.   Nissan has not released even teaser pictures of the next gen Leaf so this artists rendering from Motor1.com will have to do for now.

Polestar 3 EV 2023 $77,000

Polestar-3-Precept

Polestar is a brand many know but have not heard of.  It is Volvo’s electric brand, although technically a separate company.  Polestar is intended to design and produce moderate volume (i.e. < 50,000 units) of sub $90,000 electric vehicles.  The idea is that Polestar will do the development of real EV’s and then Volvo (and it’s Chinese parent Geely) will take those learnings to mass produce EV’s.  Shown here is the Polestar Precept which is the near production ready design inspiration for the Polestar 3 which will be produced on the same platform as the XC90 EV in South Carolina.

Porsche Macan EV 2024 $58,000

porsche-macan-ev-prototype

While the current (pun intended) Macan sells well and looks great to us, it informally shares too many visuals with other VW Group’s mid/large sized electric SUV’s.  There is real danger here that there is not enough product differentiation and that VW will need to cull some of its many brands in the decade to come.  The next gen Macan is to be built on VW’s soon-to-be ubiquitous Premium Platform Electric (PPE) platform and that means it will be EV only.

RAM 1500 EV 2024 $45,000

RAM 1500 EV 2024

Above is all we really know for sure about the 2024 RAM 1500 EV.  Not much other than we would not expect large scale production until 2025 and that Stellantis, RAM’s parent company. says it will outperform the Hummer EV and F150 Lightening.

Rivian R1S EV 2023 $70,000

Rivian R1S EV - 2023In case you had not heard, Rivian is a 10 year overnight success story.  At least that is the hope.  They have very deep pockets, being funded by Amazon and Coatue.  The company almost had a deal for technology swapping and financing with GM but in the Ford swooped in and made the deal.  Don’t think these are just F150 derivatives or that the F150 is just a rebadged Rivian; these produces were very independently developed.  Technically the R1S will be available any month now, but they have cut their production estimates and now expect to produce just a few thousand before 2023.

More details HERE.

Rivian R1T EV 2023 $70,000

Rivian R1S EV

While the R1S will have a few copies available in 2022, the R1T pickup will not even start production until early 2023.

Rolls-Royce Spectre EV 2023 $350,000

rolls-royce-spectre

BMW’s uber luxury brand Britain’s legendary Rolls Royce is going all in on electric drive.  Fun fact, Rolls use of ominous names can about by accident.  Because each one is hand built the workers name each one.  During a press event in 1926 the money and marketing man, Sir Henry Royce mentioned the name of the unit being presented as the Silver Ghost (named for its color and being so very quiet).  The press ran with it. and Royce never looked back.

Subaru Solterra EV 2023 $38,000

Subaru Solterra EV 2023

Subaru introduced an VERY low volume PHEV version of its best selling Crosstrek in 2021 but are now ready to start playing in the full EV space with a similar looking but all new chassis.  The all new Solterra is the result of a partnership with Toyota and will have the same underpinnings as the Toyota bZ4X EV SUV.

Tesla Cybertruck EV 2023 $75,000

2023 Tesla-Cybertruck-ramp-extended

Everyone knows about the Cybertruck but what they don’t know is how much new tech is going into it.  It will not be just another Model 3 derivative.  In particular the body is oragamied from a single sheet of stainless steel and its batteries will be the new larger, cheaper and more reliable 4680 cells.  As such the 2021 production target slipped to 2022 and is now slated for early 2023.  Fun fact, Tesla now has a mind blowing 1.25 MILLION pre-orders for the Cybertruck.

More details HERE.

Tesla Roadster EV 2024 $200,000

2024 tesla-roadster-prototype

As the Tesla Roadster production keeps slipping back, officially it is a 2023 model but we do not see it in production until 2024.  Tesla just has too much demand from its Model 3, Model Y and Cybertruck.  Fun fact (well fun rumor!), the $250,000 Founders Edition of the Tesla Roadster may have compressed air jet packs that force the vehicle from 0 to 60 mph in 1.9 seconds.

More details HERE.

Toyota bZ4X EV 2023 $36,000

Toyota bZ4X EV 2023

Smaller than a Highlander, larger than a RAV4 with a bit of C-HR styling, the all new Toyota bZ4X could be a game changer for the worlds largest auto manufacturer.  Toyota is late to the EV party but with good looks and a great price, this product will sell globally in big volumes.  The name is not a silly as you first think when you realize that bZ, which stands for Beyond Zero) is actually a new subbrand for Toyota.  It is really the Toyota BZ 4X.  Oh, and before you go take a look at the Subaru Solterra (3 up in this list) and see if you notice the similarities.

Toyota Grand Highlander PHEV 2024 $45,000

2023-Toyota Grand-Highlander

In the Jeep naming tradition, Toyota has decided to name their sort-of-new longer Highlander the Grand Highlander.  It will be slotted between the current Highlander and a refreshed Sequoia.  While no official announcements have been made, we expect the Grand Highlander to have a PHEV version by 2024.

More details HERE.

Volkswagen ID.6 EV 2024 $45,000

2023-Volkswagen-ID6VW’s new ID6 is another all electric that is just a bit smaller than an Atlas.  It is currently planned for release only for the Chinese market in 2024.  However, if sales are as strong as expected, you can expect it to arrive in Europe within a few years.  We don’t expect it to be sold in Canada or the United States as the VW’s sales are not strong enough in those markets to split the ID6 vs ID8 hair.

Volkswagen ID.8 EV 2023 $45,000

2023-Volkswagen-ID.8-Prototype

The ID8 EV, shown here as a production ready prototype, uses VW’s MEB platform (think Golf), but is about the same size as an Atlas.

Volkswagen Buzz EV 2024

This ID Buzz is VW’s take on a modern electric 1960’s Microbus.  Everyone has seen pictures of the happy yellow VW van driving in press events since 2019 so we thought the video above showing the even newer cargo van version would be more interesting.

Volkswagen ID.Space EV 2023 $55,000

Volkswagen-ID-Space-Vizzion-Concept

This VW station wagon (aka “estate” by our European readers), is expected late in 2023 and to be the first example of the German manufactures concept of a non-SUV, EV.  Shown above is the near production ready prototype.

Volvo C40 Recharge EV 2022 $60,000

Whats Next in EVs? The COMPLETE List of Electrified Vehicles Coming Before 2024

In addition to having Euro design and Volvo build quality, we were surprised to find the C40 comes with unlimited free charging on Electrify America’s massive 650 station network.  In case you are wondering, yes the C40 is $5000 MORE than the XC40, both of which have dual motor (4 wheel drive).  The big difference between the two is that the XC40 is on an older platform shared by its gasoline (ICE) powered cousin while the C40 is as Volvo’s first dedicated EV.

More details HERE.

Volvo XC60 Recharge EV 2024 $75,000

Recharge

The next-gen XC60 will not be a refresh of the ICE XC60 from 2020; it will be an all new SC60 and there will be no gas / diesel option.  This is because it will likely be built on its parent company’s (Geely) dedicated SEA architecture which can provide 0 to 100 K’s per hour (0 – 60 mph) in less than 3 seconds.

Volvo XC90 Recharge EV 2023 $80,000

Volvo XC90 EV Recharge EV 2024

The next gen XC90 will continue to have gas engine options where as its XC60 and XC90 stable mates will be electric only.  The model shown above is a prototype that will definitely not go to market, but it does provide some design queues.
